Disable accents in Spanish
There should be an option to disable de use of words with accents in Spanish. Not all phones can manage accents, so by having the proper suggestion for the correct word in Spanish, but without an accent, would be awesome! I have found that some phones can't handle accents, so when I text to those phones they just get symbols and no text at all.
The problem that I am experiencing is that whenever I use an automatically corrected accented word in Spanish, the SMS that I am sending gets splitter into several others. For example, in a 80 characters message, if there is an automatically accented word, the resulting message that is actually delivered are 2 messages that where splitter after the accented word. The more automatically accented words I use, the more split (and additional) messages are created.
One feature I can't live without, being bilingual, is automatic character replacement at least in sms. I type in Spanish and letters with accents aren't viewed correctly by others receiving my messages.
Automatic character replacement would replace letters with accents with letters without accents.
My full time keyboard is the htc_ime mod but it's feeling outdated. It has this feature which is important to me.
Thanks for this suggestion. We plan to improve this aspect of SwiftKey. We will post updates about this issue in this topic:
I agree, a disable accents and special characters option is necessary for this app to realize its potential. You are already so close!
I second this idea, My problem is not as much that some phones cannot receive accents, though now that is a concern, my issue is that when using accents instead of 160 characters it becomes like 50 so any message becomes 2-3 txts and is just annoying for person receiving. When just disabling accents would be amazing!

This would be awesome to me also. When you use words with accents on sms's, the 140 character limit drops to 70, wich make me constantly send small messages over two sms's or manually substitute the characters with accents... Any help on this front would be greatly appreciated.
