You can turn off a national characters. (diacritics)
I would like to off a national characters in the sms or choose this option in settings.
This has now been planned for development. We will update the issue again when we are ready to test.

I am sorry to say this, but even if is a great application is totally unusable in SMS writing. I was waiting for fixing this before rating it, but i believe that i waited enough. I think that 6 months for a simple functionality that other keyboards have is very very much (even if you don't have the people to make the dictionary without diacritics, you could buy them from others if you care about your clients). I will give 2 stars in the market.

Couldn't agree more with you guys. This thread have over one year and it's still unsolved.
And let's be serious about it, how hard can be to turn of/delete a few letters ?
You disappoint a lot of people dear SwiftKey Team. -

Well, almost two months have passed from my last attempt to bring this matter to the devs' attention and still NOTHING. It has been almost one and a half years from the initial suggestion being put forward and bear in mind this was not a request for some seldom used gimmick or other small visual change. This is a use-crippling lack of functionality which affects almost all of us European users/clients. I would bet my firstborn that this is not a very difficult mechanism to implement and yet they still ignore us, give us empty promises.
I have long ago uninstalled this app and stopped three friends from purchasing it. I will discourage anyone asking me about it. Well not "discourage" per se but warn - it won't work for them. I know in the end this is just another meaningless rant on the Internet but I had to express my dissapointment. Good luck everyone!

Hi, I would also like to see this feature. Czech language needs that too, because we have a lot of special characters (with diacritics). I have used SlideIt so far but switched to SwiftKey and this is the only feature that I am missing now. Thank you in advance.

Hello SwiftKey Dev team :)
Indeed what you say it is correct. An idea would be that once the application understands that is in the SMS application, the encoding will return automatically to the GSM Alphabet.
By definition, Greek users will only be able to write capital letters.
Maybe you can also create a switch where each individual can choose whether he wants to write in UFT16 (full char set) or just GSM Alphabet.Thank you for the consideration :)
Regards.

Swift key is useless without this feature for many languages, as mentioned by many people before. I would be very happy if you could fix this feature. Thanks.

Yes Please add the option to remove special characters (Diacritic) when composing SMS. They are not supported by the GSM alphabet......

Guys, any info or update on when we might get to see this feature in swiftkey 3?
I know it takes time, but like somebody else said below, it's pretty frustrating to get only some themes with much awaited updates. It's been planned for development since March...
Thanks!

come on people, the fact that you had paid for an app (in case you actually did pay for it) doesn't turn developers into your employees. Changing things take time, improving things take even longer. If you don't like how it works, go and get a better app for typing if you think you can find one... What about writing one your selves?...
I would also like to see that support for characters frequently used in Spanish is improved but c'mon. Be pacient, and be respectful
