Asus TF700 Jelly Bean. using onscreen keyboard fails miserably in office and some text boxes

I do not have the physical keyboard. on screen. tablet is 2 days old. The keyboard doesn't run properly on the device in Firefox, Polaris Office, Dolphin, or the browser included with jellybean. I The keyboard disappeared twice for no reason while typing this

        also where you see stray letters, the keyboard just inserts them from nowhere
