buggy gestures
Since upgrading to Swiftkey 3, the method of swiping right to left across the keyboard to erase the word immediately left of the cursor fails. Instead, you have some kind of key highlighting, and whatever key was under my finger/stylus is entered. This worked fine in 2.x. Please repair this function or allow us to roll back (alas, I didn't keep an archived installer for 2.x).

In SwiftKey 3, gestures are now activated by speed-of-gesture, rather than distance. If you are having difficulty with your gestures, please try swiping your finger a bit faster.
If you continue to have issues, please provide the following information in your comments:
1) Device Make and Model
2) Version of Android
3) Is your device rooted or running a custom ROM?

Thanks, Evan. Unfortunately Ron is right, the only time I really can get this to work is superfast (which makes it hard to hold finger or stylus -- my preferred method of tapping and typing -- to the screen consistently). I do try to swipe quickly, this morning Swiftkey entered gobbledygook instead of backspacing on a word. On my smaller phone display, clicking backspace repeatedly or holding it, is annoying. You either need to reverse this feature change, or making the speed adjustable.
Frankly, "speed of swipe" is useless in Swiftkey unless you are implementing "swipe gestures." Without swipe gestures, only doing a word delete with super-fast gesture is inane. I think the votes for this bug report confirm that.

Swiping right-to-left to erase *does* work, but the swipe action has to be very fast, almost too fast to be reliable. (Xoom, split and normal landscape, and portrait)

To clarify, the keyboard covers the software back button at the bottom of the screen making it inaccessible.

Same problem here on the kindle fire. The fire doesn't have a hardware back button and so the only way to close the keyboard is to press the quick settings button and then back out of the settings menu. It's very annoying.

It doesn't work for me either I don't know about the Tab but Honeycomb has a "down" button that hides the keyboard.
