Unexpected capitalized words midsentence
Previously you said that if SwiftKey predicts a word as capitalized that the user doesn't want capitalized (eg, Internet), all the user needs to do is remove the word, then teach SwiftKey the "corrected" word. (I won't go into all the details, it's covered elsewhere).
My point is, this SOMETIMES works, but with some words, like Internet, SwiftKey REFUSES to learn it any other way.
I keep voting for manual editing of the user dictionary ideas, but haven't found any that specifically address this issue.
Apart from the fact that ever since two word predictions got added, the prediction accuracy has plummeted, & weird double characters (instead of a space between words when I use the space bar) keep occurring, this is the next most aggravating aspect as it keeps me from being able to use the predictions to type more quickly.
Allowing users to directly access their dictionaries & make permanent changes MIGHT solve most of the problems I have with it. HELP!! Right now, the arrow keys on the keyboard are the only thing keeping me around. SwiftKey just isn't THAT much better than the stock Samsung keyboard, the way it once was.
Deleting predictions just doesn't work. No matter how many times I long press a word and click "remove prediction" it still puts it back. Try it. Type this: "The Windows we got do not fit." Now delete the prediction and type it again. It will always, ALWAYS capitalize windows (yes, I had to manually correct that) no matter how many time you delete the prediction. It will "sometimes" remember the lower case word Windows if it is typed and corrected multiple times after certain words if used often enough but will eventually put it back. There are just words that are hard written into the dictionary that cannot be removed and it absolutely SUCKS I cannot change it. I work construction and it irritates the HELL out of me that every time I type "Windows" it looks like I'm talking about F-ing Microsoft. There NEEDS to be a way to edit the prediction dictionary. Otherwise I like the keyboard.
When typing ok on the keyboard it comes up as OK without me saving it like that. Even after deleting and reassignment of ok, still predicts OK every time
SwiftKey always autocorrects ok to OK. Even though I tell it to never predict that. Looks like like I'm screaming at everyone.
First off, great app! I use the Dutch language pack and since a few updates the auto correct automatically applies capitals to word that don't need capitals. It does this since a month or so. I now it sounds like a small but but it's really annoying correct at least one word per sentence. Thanks!
Auto correct and/or prediction has not been working right for about two months. For example :
Me: I really love to watch TV.
KB writes: I really Love to watch TV.
Me: I went with John to read a book.
KB: I went with Jon to red a book.
The keyboard is constantly changing the capitalization of words that don't fall into the NAMES category and there is no rhyme or reason to it. Also, after carefully watching how I spell things, I have noticed that the keyboard is also changing the word I type for another word. It is not until I hit the backspace button and manually click the word on left that it will take it. Again, it is randomly doing this as well. I could type the word "we'll" and have it end up changing the word to "well". It is getting VERY frustrating to have to correct auto correct. Please fix this!
Very unnerving. SwiftKey will predict a capitalized word in the middle of a sentence. I pressed to remove that prediction a couple of times, hoping it would revert to the low-case word, but no, it still keeps offering only the capitalized version of some words that are unfortunately very commonly used. This happens both in French and in English.
Seems like this is a reoccurring issue, spread out at random times. I'm getting random capitalized words in every message or sentences that I type. Middle of the sentence. It's still annoying now too. Please fix.
Pretty much what title says. Corrects "you" to "You."
When typing normally cased sentences the keyboard often chooses replacements in all capitals.
Example I could type the word "best" in lowercase, in a normally cased sentence and the keyboard will change it to "BEST" in all caps, even if the word was spelt correctly in lowercase.
Shouldn't the autocorrelation behaviour recognise that I am not typing a sentence in all caps and correct accordingly?
A fix has been implemented recently, but it’s not retroactive and it will a bit of time before the correct lower case words are learnt instead of the capitalised ones.
Guys hit the "contact support" button on the right side panel and it will let you email their support. Tell them about this issue and tell them to solve it.
I think to solve this there should not only be a fix to not learn words in capital by default, but also an option to turn off capitalization mid sentence except for "I". Many people don't like to capitalize things like names, locations, countries, and we shouldn't be forced to. It's even worse when you have a sentence with some names capitalized and others not. And finally it's unacceptable when you have Internet capitalized in every single use. We already have the shift key which works great to capitalize words both before and after we type them. So please give us the option to use the keyboard like we want to.
Still happening for me as well, we need an ADMIN here to recognize this issue once and for all! This is my only big problem with swiftkey but it is a HUGE issue. Words that are almost always capitalized: Windows, Internet, Explorer, and a bunch of others. Now things have gotten worse because the keyboard has learned to always capitalize: Haha, Hey, and Hello because I always use them at the start of sentences. This is getting out of hand and needs to be fixed, it's making me feel like I wasted money on this keyboard and could have just stuck with Swype.
I FOR Sure Thought There Would Be A Fix FOR This By now. As you can see per my first sentence, there is not.
This is still an issue for me. Words get capitalized mid sentence. It is getting very very annoying.
I have issues with "we" always being capitalized but only when I write in Dutch. Would've hoped there was a way to manually correct the autocorrect dictionary. Otherwise very happy with the product!
Messes up in Dutch a lot. It continues to spell one of the most common words 'ze' (= 'they' ) in caps. Corrected it numerous times, no improvement. Really annoying. The word suggestions are in ALL CAPS. Wtf?

This is total rubbish. This is nearly a year and still not fixed. Even if I use the half baked workaround by deleting capitalised word, it thinks that is the only instance of the word. So if I delete Manana it also forgets manana is a real word.
This has been happening to me for a while. So annoying. Capitalises initial letter often, and doesn't learn. IMHO Swiftkey has been getting worse recently, not better. Suggesting ridiculous combinations of words.
This has come back again. It was fixed months ago and now it's back. Grrr.
OK (<~~~) this is still happening with me as well. This is the first time it hasn't capitalized every word today. Also, it doesn't save words I use all the time. My name is Candi and it changes it to Candice or Cando. SO ANNOYING! I have an S4 and it didn't start doing this until after the last update. Anybody ever get theirs fixed?
my trouble is with typing ok and OK
how do I re - set that ? It's really
hard when someone asks How are you?
and I say, " I'm OK ( Oklahoma ) !!!

Just installed swiftkey. It capitalizes every word I type and it's annoying. It should only capitalize the starting word of the sentence and not every word. Touchpal X keyboard also has auto capitalization and I like the way it capitalizes "only the starting word" of the sentence. I think I'm going back to touchpal x if this is not fixed. They say that it is learnt, but it should learn by not auto capitalizing every word immediately, apply only the capitalization to a word after it is learnt not capitalize the word by default. Also how hard it is to detect a start of a sentence? Seriously...
I'm glad I'm not alone! The problem is driving me bananas!
I just got this phone a week ago and this cap problem drives me nuts!
The problem still exists for me. The solution mentioned by the dev where the lower case will be learned over time hasn't worked for me over the last 6 months. Here's a test to prove it. I want to just say "look it up using the internet" and other sentences but when I swype here's what I get:
Look it up using the Internet. He was a great Explorer. I went to new York (awkward when I want to write it all lower case.BREAKTHROUGH: now selecting the word and hitting shift actually works correctly! Before it wouldn't let you remove the capital, you had to do it manually! ).
I can confirm that the problem is still there with the Turkish language pack. Haven't tried English yet.
Whit the new version 5 i typed allot today and haven't seen this bug yet. I hope it is gone now. Can other people confirm this? Thank you.
Been a long time user if SwiftKey but after reading this I'm saddened to see it's been totally ignored and directly lied about right here. regretfully I'm done waiting for a fix. Dumping this keyboard and won't be recommending it anymore. gfys SwiftKey.
Not fixed as yet. Please try and find a way.
