Upgraded to ics and swipe to delete hardly works
I used to be able to swipe to delete words and now I can't with the most recent update.
When flow is disabled, swiping down closes keyboard. One thing I noticed with my and my friends usage pattern is that we swipe down starting from prediction are above the keys (probably intuitive behavior as this is the edge of the keyboard popping up). SwiftKey doesn't however respond to that gesture unless actually started below prediction area - somewhere from keys. Even knowing that it takes me 2-3 times before I realize why it doesn't hide
I can't swipe back to delete also word accuracy in flow is a nightmare. Swype is way more accurate.
I can swipe up to bring up the keyboard but swiping down to minimize the keyboard does nothing
As above, Swipe-to-delete no longer work even with 'flow' disabled. It was working yesterday, it no longer works today. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and switching flow on and off again, but whatever I do I can't get the swipe-to-delete to work. The keyboard buttons light up, so it's detecting my swipe, but no delete action is perfomed. I've also tried adjusting my swipe speed - still no joy.
Any advice? I love this app, but this is a real pain. My phone is a Huawei Ascend Y300, and I'm using the paid version of the app.
Gestures don't work on Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 even if Flow is disabled. Can't swipe back to delete word or down to hide keyboard. SwiftKey 188.8.131.52
When I swipe the keyboard down to drop the keyboard doesn't work with the
latest version (184.108.40.2063). Fortunately, the back button does still close
it. I'm using Android version 2.3.4 on a Droid X.
I'm often accidentally triggering a downward swipe gesture when I'm typing very fast, hiding the keyboard and wasting my time. I'd like to disable this gesture if possible.
In older versions of Swiftkey, you could choose the distance required to activate a swipe gesture backspace (of an entire word). However, the features is nearly impossible to use now. Supposedly it's based on the speed of your gesture now, but no matter how quickly I swipe it works less than 30% of the time.
Using an LG Optimus T (LG-P504) running Froyo (2.2.2)
Sometimes when erase by gestures it fails, instead producing letters, mostly q and s. Restarting my Sony Xperia Arc S is the only way to get it back in order.
It's possible to have an option to disable the gestures, like the old version, because sometimes when i write fast accidentaly deletes some words
slide to delete is not reliable..it doesnt work most of the time..works sometimes only..swift x had no such problem..rather has slowed my typing speed now
Xperia neo v
Been using Swiftkey X on my HTC Inspire for close to a year and loved it. Upgraded to Swiftkey 3 and the change in the Swipe to Delete functionality has made it frustrating to use. Using it the same way I always have, it often doesn't work and will instead enter a letter. Before, a quick swipe with my thumb would delete word. But now I'm unable to determine exactly what it takes to get it to delete. It may take several attempts to delete the word, in which case, I could've just used the delete key to remove a letter at a time. This has definitely slowed down my typing, not made it faster. Responses to other posts regarding this say it's now based on speed not distance. But what speed? Quick swipes don't seem to be reliable. Slower, deliberate swipes definitely aren't the answer. I used to have the setting set to 10% of the keyboard and I don't recall ever having an issue with it. So far I don't see the improvements in this version enough to put up with the inconsistency in the Swipe to Delete functionality. I'm better off restoring X until 3 is improved.
The downward swipe seems too sensitive to me, Stock HTC Thunderbolt, fully updated. This usually involves words ending with g or f, but i think because theyre near the center of the keyboard, i will hit those keys and then space, but i think its seeing that as a swipe down and closes the keyboard having not inserted the last letter. How about a way for those of us that dont really use gestures (nothing against SwiftKey's, but i rarely use gestures in any program) to turn them off or disable them?
I type fast, and I have my setting on rapid text, but when I'm typing, the keyboard hides.
I need the option to remove the swipe left to delete option. When i type fast with two fingers it deletes words that i want!
deleting words using swipe not working on xperia neo v on ICS...used to work in swiftx..fix it
We believe this issue has been fixed over the past few updates.
If you are are still having gesture issues, please report the issue in a new bug thread and leave your device info, OS version and SwiftKey version in the comments.
Thank you for your help and feedback.

I'm on SwiftKey version 220.127.116.11 , on Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 , on stock TouchWiz ROM ( XXUAME2 , Android 4.2.2). The swipe to delete previous word gesture is working very poorly. 8/10 times that it failed in swipe to delete, super frustrating. In comparison to Galaxy S2 on any ROM, swipe to delete worked flawlessly.
What's sorcery is this ?
Nexus 4, JellyBean, SwiftKey 3
I swipe right to left pretty fast to try to get around this bug, but it still fails to delete words about half the time. Super frustrating!
Swipe to delete is terrible on Google Nexus 10, particularly in landscape mode. I end up spending more time trying to swipe than it would take to just backspace over the word.

I have this problem with 20.12. update on a Nexus 4.
It works less than half the time.
It works half the time but fails often and it's really annoying. It works in one text field then suddenly fails on the next.
It works most of the time but in some text input boxes, it works but fails on other occasions which is very annoying. No matter how fast I swipe it won't work.
SE Xperia Mini Pro SK17 on Sony ICS
I have an LG optimus hub with gingerbread 2.3.6 and when i write in portrait mode, and i want to write a word with close letters, the keyboard delete the word! It's annoying... Please reintroduce the option to disable the swipe gesture. Thanks.

My Xperia Active encountered this problem after the ICS 4.0.4 update. Doesn't matter what the long-press duration is set to. Please fix it, because swiftkey is supreme on every other way!
I have been using swiftkey3 right from the first update on my xperia neo v running ics..yet swipe to delete issue has never been fixed in any of the update..Really annoying..Earlier swiftx had never had such an issue..Why is it so hard to fix it ???
The affected Android version is ICS 4.0.4 instead of 4.0.1 in the title.
The issue disappears but it's not known why it 'fixes' itself.
This is not an issue with swipe speed.
On LG Optimus one using CM7. The slide to delete is hardly working, this is frustrating since this feature is the one that really helps me.... :(

Arc S user on Android 4.0.4. Gestures don't work at all.
On an ICS rom and also getting this problem, swipe to delete sporadically won't work and also some patches on the keyboard space will sometimes not react.
Yeah it's just BS now, xperia neo v ics 4.0.4, no gestures work... fix!
Temporary fix: Disable SwiftKey in Settings > Language & Input > Uncheck SwiftKey 3 and check it again.
Swipe gestures will work again but only for awhile until it doesnt read again.
swipe to delete not on xperia neo too
