I'm on SwiftKey version 4.0.1.108 , on Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 , on stock TouchWiz ROM ( XXUAME2 , Android 4.2.2). The swipe to delete previous word gesture is working very poorly. 8/10 times that it failed in swipe to delete, super frustrating. In comparison to Galaxy S2 on any ROM, swipe to delete worked flawlessly.
What's sorcery is this ?

I swipe right to left pretty fast to try to get around this bug, but it still fails to delete words about half the time. Super frustrating!

Swipe to delete is terrible on Google Nexus 10, particularly in landscape mode. I end up spending more time trying to swipe than it would take to just backspace over the word.

I have this problem with 20.12. update on a Nexus 4.
It works less than half the time.
Really annoying.

It works half the time but fails often and it's really annoying. It works in one text field then suddenly fails on the next.

It works most of the time but in some text input boxes, it works but fails on other occasions which is very annoying. No matter how fast I swipe it won't work.

I have an LG optimus hub with gingerbread 2.3.6 and when i write in portrait mode, and i want to write a word with close letters, the keyboard delete the word! It's annoying... Please reintroduce the option to disable the swipe gesture. Thanks.

My Xperia Active encountered this problem after the ICS 4.0.4 update. Doesn't matter what the long-press duration is set to. Please fix it, because swiftkey is supreme on every other way!

I have been using swiftkey3 right from the first update on my xperia neo v running ics..yet swipe to delete issue has never been fixed in any of the update..Really annoying..Earlier swiftx had never had such an issue..Why is it so hard to fix it ???

The affected Android version is ICS 4.0.4 instead of 4.0.1 in the title.
The issue disappears but it's not known why it 'fixes' itself.
This is not an issue with swipe speed.

On LG Optimus one using CM7. The slide to delete is hardly working, this is frustrating since this feature is the one that really helps me.... :(

On an ICS rom and also getting this problem, swipe to delete sporadically won't work and also some patches on the keyboard space will sometimes not react.

Yeah it's just BS now, xperia neo v ics 4.0.4, no gestures work... fix!

Temporary fix: Disable SwiftKey in Settings > Language & Input > Uncheck SwiftKey 3 and check it again.
Swipe gestures will work again but only for awhile until it doesnt read again.

My comment is the one "Upon upgrading my Xperia arc s.."
It now suddenly started working, not sure when. Maybe a restart is required.Pat.
