Reverts to default keyboard at reboot / restart
After I updated my device to Jelly Bean, Swiftkey keeps returning to android default keyboard after restart or shutdown. I uninstalled the keyboard and re-installed it but nothing happened. Everytime the phone loads the OS i go to setting and configure again Swiftkey
2,947 votesUpdate:
We have contacted Samsung regarding this problem – they acknowledged the issue and have checked that it does not occur in their latest update. They intend to roll out Android 4.2.2 to Galaxy S3 users in the near future (unfortunately we don’t have an exact date), at which point the problem should be fixed.
Explanation of the issue:
We are aware of the issue where your phone reverts to the stock keyboard on reboot and we appreciate that it is very annoying.
We are currently in contact with Google Play to see if there is anything that they can do to fix this.
The issue is that Google Play installs paid apps in a particular location on your phone and that in some versions of Android (particularly 4.1 on Samsung devices) this location is not available at the point in the boot process where keyboards are being switched on.…

All the languages dissapeared [*CM10]
My system in galaxy s2 running cyanogen mod 10. Recently all my languages in swiftkey have disappeared. Not only they disappeared but also there's no language list in the language menu in the settings so I can't redownload any languages. This renders swiftkey virtually useless which is disappointing for an app I paid for.
618 votesHi everyone – please can you give us a bit more information to help us figure out what’s going on here.
1 – Does this happen when you turn your phone off and on again? Or could you be typing happily in one app, switch to another app and suddenly the languages are gone?
2 – If you go to Settings > Languages&layouts, tap the menu button and choose “update languages”, does the language list return?
3 – If the language list does return when you do #2, do you have to redownload your chosen languages? Or do they reappear as already downloaded?
Thanks

"spacebar will" is broken
Even though the spacebar is set to "always insert a prediction", it behaves just like the method "always insert a space". If I want to insert a prediction, I have to press the middle area above the keyboard. The two other inserting-methods are working as they are supposed to.
This wasn't a problem before Swiftkey 3. I am using a HTC One S with a Norwegian language and layout.409 votesHi everyone, we are looking into this problem, and we apologise for the inconvenience as we understand that it is very frustrating.
If you have any details that might help us to pin it down, please post them here as a comment and we will see them.
Thanks.

Can't download language pack
I keep getting notifications that my language module -- English (US) -- failed to load. When I tap it (as directed) to retry, it still fails to load.

Please try deleting the languagePacks.json file in /sdcard/Android/data/com.touchtype.swiftkey/files/ and then reboot your phone. SwiftKey will generate a new file with the correct metadata for all models (you should be connected to the internet). If you then try downloading the language pack again, hopefully the issue will be resolved.
We also recommend downloading language packs over a strong wifi connection, if possible.
Also, if your device is connected to a computer, your microsd card functions differently. When the microsd card is mounted to your computer, your device no longer has the access needed for SwiftKey to function properly.

Keyboard shown when entering PIN for unlock has extra keys.
I am using HTC one X with Jelly bean. 4.1.1 and Sense +
Swiftkey keyboard has extra keys like '(', pause, wait, #, +, * etc.
These unwanted keys are cluttering the keyboard, making me press wrong keys most times. All that is needed here is the numeric keys like the default Sense keyboard.
Hope you will address this soon.115 votes -
No Keypress / Keyclick sound
Hi!
I'm not able to get keyboard sound feedback on my Motorola Atrix. The haptic feedback works fine tho.
I've checked to make sure that my phone isn't muted in any way.
I use an app called AudioManager to control my different sound levels. None of these are muted.
I use SwiftKey X 2.0.5.107 (Swedish language).
I of course have been in SwiftKey seetings and enabled "Keypress sound".74 votes -
Jelly Bean 4.1.1 installation error
After upgrading to Jelly Bean 4.1.1, during the configuration process of Swiftkey when it attempt to enable Swiftkey 3 from the settings menu, I get a crash error saying "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped."
I therefore cannot complete installation even if I manually enable Swiftkey 3 myself. Without completion of installation, I get a message every time I type and predictive text isn't functional

Problem with physical hardware keyboard on Asus Transformer
when I connect my Transformer to the docking station with the hardware keyboard, SwiftKey layout reverts to English one, even if in setting it still says "Italian".
So I had to stop using SwiftKey for now, because it's a PITA to change from SKX to Asus keyboard and back each time I connect/deconnect.30 votes -
The application Settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
I have been using SwiftKey X for quite some time and have been very happy. Unfortunately, I installed SwiftKey 3 yesterday, but it will not work. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it using a stable wi-fi connection (without the phone connected to a computer), and I'm still getting the same error message when I try to get into the SwiftKey3 settings (error message in subject line). I've tried checking for updates (Firmware, profile, PRL, and HTC software) and everything is now up to date and I'm still having the same problem.
As it turns out, the uninstall didn't work…

Turning off auto-caps still forces some words to capitalize after the first sentence. / Uppercase
SGH-I747, 4.1.1 (cyanogenmod)
SK v3.0.1.330with auto-caps turned off, the first word of the first sentence does not capitalize. All subsequent first words are capitalized. it seems to let some words stay lowercase. clearing language data and reinstalling do not help. This paragraph was typed with auto-caps off to give an idea of the issue.

Option to disable SwiftKey X when using physical keyboard (connectbot)
It seems impossible to turn of SwiftKeyX completely when using the physical keyboard. The idea is that every time I write with the on-screen keyboard I need SwiftKeyX. But if I use the physical keyboard e.g. to type in non-human language (like programming or shell commands using connectbot) SwiftKeyX's auto-completion makes no sense.
In the menu there is a setting "physical keyboard" which turns off most of the auto-correction but the uppercase-after-a-colon correction.
In the following there are two examples having swiftkeyX disabled for the physical keyboard:

Foreign characters
Well it seams that i can't force it to exclude foreign characters from the keyboard. I tried to disable it in settings but it does not respond. If it's always on then the keyboard is so full of keys and it makes them too small. I used to use it before as it should be in the long press method.

Android 4.1.2 haptic feedback intensity
hi developers,
my carrier has just rolled out the 4.1.2 jellybean update today and after getting the update I realize that the haptic feedback has become too intense while using SwiftKey.
I guess that this can be attributed to the fact that Samsung has now changed the manipulation levels for the global haptic feedback of the phone. It can only be adjusted in steps of 25percent, which is why I think the typing has become more intense.
another observation is that if i do manipulate the haptic duration within SwiftKey itself, it does seem responsive until the 5ms mark. Anything…

Auto-Uninstalled on reboot on Nexus 7
Hi, i own a Nexus 7 (stock rom 4.2.1)tablet and i have 2 users. Me as main i have the free Swiftkey but my mom who is the 2nd user has the paid version for tablet.
Every time I reboot the tablet the paid app from my mom's account is being uninstalled! And when i re-install it from the market every time i have to reboot the tablet because the select default keyboard settings page doesn't have Swiftkey in the list and the app keeps asking to set it as default while its not in the list.15 votes
