How can we improve SwiftKey?

android account integration for gmail

i'd rather not login through the current google login running within swiftkey.
if it's possible use the account integration from android.

oh and i use a transitioned google apps account, meaning that you don't have to direct me to the gapps login, but the general google account login page. it doesn't scale properly too, a redirect to the browser would be better, if the native integration isn't possible.

The current way SwiftKey handles this is a royal pain for me, since I don't use the default browser at all, just Firefox. Using Android's built in account logins is just that much more logical, reliable and don't depend on an app some people stopped using for security reasons (there was a gaping issue on some Samsung devices where an attacker could reset the phone with the correctly formed url).

oh, i was about to suggest it again, could a moderator replace "android account" w/ "oauth" since that is the proper term

anyways, here's basically the same thing, i suggested over at vip.swiftkey.net
        http://vip.swiftkey.net/index.php?/topic/3483-oauth-for-gmail-personalization/

        "hey,

thanks for finally giving us a ICS theme, after 5 months. now if you would let us choose the ICS voice to text engine and activate it w/ one single short click, then it'd be perfect, except for one thing.

please finally add oauth for the gmail personalization. the popup that renders the login page is not only unnecessary but insecure, sure you probably won't steal our (login) data, but it is still a possibility that you can easily rule out.
not to mention that it's just an inconvenience to log in again, even more for people who use the 2-step verification, like me.

every other quality application that i use, just presents me w/ the neat android oauth dialogue, where i can easily see, who requests access and what to, since i'm already logged in via the android account manager, i won't have to log in again, how neat.

the only reason i can image for using that awful frame login, is to report back when the personalization is done. but please re-consider if that's really worth the trouble some setup, which your users have to do every time they want to feed the personalization engine new data.

        best,
        x "

+1 for 2-step auth being a pain. I expected to use an application-specific password at most.

Also, this site really fails ina mobile browser. Provide a better support link from the app.

They should do this for Facebook and Twitter too if you're logged into them on your phone through the official apps.

i just noticed that if i don't type my email in the popup, i get taken to the correct login site.
tried activating it twice, failed, like mentioned in the bug section.

oh and because i use 2 step authentication the current method is even more inconvenient. if you'd atleast redirect me to the browser, i wouldn't have to use a second phone for the pin, since i'm already logged in there. jumping back to the current auth screen isn't possible.
