Option to disable auto-space after punctuation and/or prediction
Would really like the option do disable/enable auto-space after punctuation (.,!), particularly period. Would make entering e.g. adresses and version number strings (which I do a lot) much less of a hassle.
And related, an option to do the same for prediction: Some languages, e.g. Swedish, uses composite words (combining word stems/lexemes into one word) extensively.
Auto-spacing is now disabled if:
you start to enter a number
you write www. (indicating that you are entering a URL)
you use the @symbol (indicating that you are writing an email address)

SwiftKey are obviously still too busy working on themes rather then trying to improve the functionality. Theme's are obviously more important.
Considering SwiftKey don't seem to give two sh**s, here are a couple of alternatives I suggest people try BEFORE purchasing this.

I've been using this one for a while now and it works brilliantly. No auto-space after punctuation marks either.

If each vote on this topics represented 1 person, and each person tried before buying and posted here, you lost 3,680 potential customers who are looking for a nice keyboard. Multiply that by $4.00 per pro version purchase and you lost over $14,000 in sales due to a simple feature request being ignored. Reverse the scenario and you have 3,680 people who purchased this in good faith after the trial because they believed you pay attention to your forums and would respond to a top rated issue. At $4.00 a pop, you screwed us out of over $14,000 dollars. I know that the votes don't necessarily equal 1 vote per person, and that not all of fit the same scenario. But I can accurately say that a mix of both of the above scenarios have occurred, neither of which are beneficial to you or the customer. If you were smart, you would see that people in the comments are looking for alternative products, and that alternative products exist in the comments.

I can't justify buying this keyboard as long as it auto inserts spaces after punctuation with no option to disable it. In this day and age, people use punctuation marks in many ways that do not require a space. And people have been inserting spaces after periods since the beginning of typing. And we still insert spaces manually any time we type on a computer!
We All Have The Ability To Insert Spaces When and Where We Want Them.
This is made quite apparent by the fact that we have all used the space bar after every single word we have ever typed during our entire existence as human beings. To think that suddenly everybody wants auto space after periods is ridiculous, even if you call it a feature. I have been typing for about 20 years now, starting when I was around 8 or 9 (nothing special). This feature is requiring me to drop a 20 year GOOD habit of spacing after periods, just to become more reliant on software to help me with basic typing. This would be the same as putting training wheels on top class mountain bikes. Sure, if you have never ridden a bike, and are a beginning mountain biker as well, they would maybe help some. But if you are a 20 year mountain biking vet, it's nothing but a pain that hinders you greatly.
You have to consider, we still do a majority of our typing on physical keyboards. So for this app to promote poor typing skills with features like auto space is confusing and inconsistent! I do most of my typing at home or work, but then I am supposed to remember, "Oh, this phone app does this auto space crap."
Your app should take advantage of standard typing techniques and what people are used to, and good at. I mean, your app could eliminate typing completely by making you search through the dictionary for every single word you want to use, but it takes more time overall and is a pain. This auto space feature takes a task that I am able to do exactly how I want without even thinking, and automates it whether I want it to or not. That provides zero value. It also takes a feature I am not used to, and that doesn't fit with my typing preferences at all, and shoves it in my face. That detracts from your product's value. So for people like me, who type daily and are very good at it, this feature destroys the value.

I vote for this option.

at least change the behaviour. instead of adding it behind the word we just typed, add it before a new word we just typed. but of course, if auto spacing is totally removed, that would be better.

I would even extend this to punctuation in general, like when you're trying to enter your own smiley.

Yes, I (and many others, obviously) would appreciate this option if at all possible. I'm very use to making spaces after punctuation manually. Also, some text smileys are harder to make (such as
"-.-" or "-__-"). Other than that, I think swiftkey has been an amazing service so far! -

This is literally the ONLY thing preventing me from buying SK.

I hope they put this in a toggle-able option for us. I am very much used to adding a space after a punctuation mark. I understand that SK is programmed the way it is now to increase efficiency, but ironically this is not always the case. Please, please, please have this option is an update. Thanks!

I like many of the features of Swiftkey, but I will not pay for it unless all forms of automatic spacing are able to be turned off. I want the keyboard to type EXACTLY what I press, all the time. Even if it's "wrong". It would be even better if I could turn off ALL predictions, or turn them on, as I see fit. The assumption that everyone is using the keyboard for typing text (like this entry) is false - those of use who are trying to do data entry or other tasks using our phones need to have a keyboard mode that doesn't assume that we are writing sentences.

I wonder if it would be better to automatically input a space BEFORE a word if and only if there is a preceding word or punctuation present.

Is this still under review? I would still like the option to disable the space after a period. I keep pressing space myself (since they're not inserted on áll punctuation), thereby selecting the first prediction. Very strange sentences that way...

@Ray, yes. Thanks a lot, Apple for that one :-D Function ALWAYS should follow form, right? I mean, who cares if you can use it as long as it looks good...

It looks like having more themes is more important then the functionality of the actual application. :(

Please, please implement this as an option. Autospacing being disabled after a number is a step, but is insufficient. I'd far rather just hit space after a period (actually, automatic periods on double space is great there), but entering web addresses and the like is such an enormous pain in the ass.
Please, just allow us to disable automatic spacing after punctuation.

This becoming a serious issue for me as well. I need to do this so often that I'm seriously considering uninstalling it until it gets fixed.
