Please provide a way to disable Smart Space
SwiftKey used to be my only choice in keyboards, but since version 3 was released, I haven't used it due to the presence of the Smart Space feature. This feature has completely destroyed the usability of the keyboard for me. I do not want the keyboard inserting spaces for me. Please provide an option to disable this functionality.

Wow! Just got my GS4, and noticed the included "Samsung" keyboard had "SwiftKey flow" in the settings. Upon further inspection...yes, it's pretty much Swiftkey and lo and behold...a checkbox to disable auto space!

Agree, there should be a way to switch this feature off. Not helping most of the time.

I really like this keyboard, except for the "Smart Space." I'm sure it's something I could get used to with time, but I feel like it is something that will take more time to get used to than it's worth. Please give us an update that will allow us to disable it if that's what we want. Seems like there is an overwhelming amount of requests for this simple feature, why not just give it to us?

Abelardo is dead right. Predictions and corrections are poorer now.

I absolutely agree. It should be just an option in the settings menu. And I would disable it inmediatly as it spends lots of resources (I mean space in the suggestions bar) in unuseful work. If the bar is the actual, the great key of SwiftKey, and it's there to help by suggesting and correcting, the most of my needs are within a word, not between words. Since the introduction of "smart space" the prediction skills of the keyboard are poorer. Just observe and think.

what happened to the old thread? anyway, please let us disable the auto space. or instead of inserting space after a word, add it before inputting a new word.

I love SwiftKey's default Cobalt theme, the layout, etc. What bothers me is the way that it automatically adds a space after punctuations, especially since I'm so used to pressing the space bar. I hope something will be done about this.

I wonder if it would be better to automatically input a space BEFORE a word if and only if there is a preceding word or punctuation present.

Don't stress yourself out. A lot of us have already done so. There's some other threads about Smart Space, some with three thousand votes, and no response from the developers since a year ago. Try A.I. Type, it's not bad.

This thing kills me on a daily basis. I don't like to swear at my S3. Please, do this now or I'm going to have to jump apps. Today I spent an hour trying to resolve a bad userId/password. Turned out to be dumb space leaving a hanging space at the end of each. 'ENTER' OR EXITING KEYBOARD NEEDS TO REMOVE FINAL SPACE. When would that be helpful!?

Not only should it not do this after period, it should NOT be doing this after ANY punctuation. You would not believe how frustrating it is to try to write someone's name and say Ryan's party, but to always get Ryan' s instead. Please remove.

I completely agree, there needs to be a option to turn off auto space after a period. Which is part of precise typing. I can not handle the auto space and having to go in Md deleting the double spaces I create, which slows me down. Or even better, auto deleteing double spaces!

Yes this has been addressed in many other threads but the suggestions gave been to make SwiftKey determine when to invoke the auto feature.
This idea is a plea just go turn it off completely.

Yes I agree. The most annoying thing is having to fight SwiftKey evertime I hit the period and a space appears. There should be an option to disable this either permanently or at the time.
When I am searching for a file in Total commader eg: fr*.* a space between the dot and star will break the search and it's all too easy to miss.

Chris V, that doesn't look like the same issue. this is about the feature that inserts spaces midstream...like replacing "spacebar" with "space bar".
