Physical keyboard issues / hardkb
1. While using SwiftKey on physical keyboard, the "symbols" key won't open symbols chart
2. When I'm using physical keyboard, I can't tell if I'll type in regulars/caps/symbols. Stock keyboard displays statusbar icon (A, Aa, a, blue square [used for alternative ket functions] key pressed, blue square key permanently pressed). There should be similar feature.

This definitely needs addressing!
I use the physical keyboard on my xperia pro (mk16i) and desire Z when I want absolute control over what I am typing and how it should be displayed. I still think the physical keyboards are quicker and more accurate but sometimes the OSK is more convenient and SwiftKey is the best I've tried. I even bought the app I liked it so much, though color customisation leaves alot to be desired (but that's a whole 'nother suggestion)!
Even with the checkbox about physical keyboards unchecked SwiftKey still pokes its nose in; punctuation is automatically followed by a space, word suggestions still appear (taking up valuable vertical resolution when in landscape) and shift/symbol functions are sticky rather than going off when I have typed one character (if I want it to stay on I will press it twice). All of these things are UNACCEPTABLE as SwiftKey should have NO affect on my physical keyboard. Ever. Even if you disagree with my views please give me (and others) the simple option to make it so, thanks. -

I, too, am having this problem. Though with no action after a year, I am not optimistic.

Oh my god, this. I have the same phone, although I never really use the keyboard, it's annoying and I end up using muscle memory to remember what modifier I am on.

I agree, Swift is a great keyboard all în all, but my friends keep complaining that my text get to them in a wierd format. Turning off special caracter would fix this.
