How can we improve SwiftKey?

Easier way to change language

I usually use 3 languages: Spanish, Catalan and English, and it's not suitable to have enabled all 3 because predictions are not very fast or they are not in the wanted language. (and it get worst with Spanish and Catalan, because they have a lot of similar words) and it's uncomfortable to go to languages and keyboards everytime I chat or send an email to my different contacts.

It would be great to change the language in use just holding space, or with a key, or making swiftkey remembering the language used for each contact,...

When I look back at the text I just typed I see a garbled piece of *.
I really dislike having to read a text over and over again just because my keyboard thinks it knows better.

I sent one the language switch questions. My native language is Dutch. In Dutch we use a lot of shortcuts that are quite easily interpreted as a misspelled word in another language. This can sometimes result in typing and deleting special inserted character term just to get the right spelling. As you might guess this completely kills the idea behind smart keyboards.
So yes, please, a language key And an indication of the currently select ted language. And while you are at it, add smart cursor keys whenever you determine the that someone is harassing the cursor or selection gadget.

Remembering the language used for each contact is a fantastic idea!

Maybe this suggestion can be something like this: Choose your primary language.

So you can build a list with the languages you use and them put the prefered one on the top, so the suggestions always come first from the preferred language, then if none is available, try another language.

What do you think? solve my problems too.

Big NO from me. I switched from SlideIT because of this. Im always chatting in english and spanish and its a pain to be switching languages or remembering in wich one your keyboard is. Most of the time i receive a message and reply it, i start typing only to get, for example, spanish words, when i actually want to type in english. You end up loosing time deleting the word and pressing the button to retype it again in your desired language. If this feature sees the light, i hope its optional.

I have the same problem, but I use daily more than 6 languages, with different keyboard layouts and it is very cumbersome to have to go into settings, unchecked one or two languages and check the ones that I need every time I need to speak to a different person.

I must say the Apple products are good at this and it is smooth. However, with SK, predictions must also change language not just keyboard!

Strongly agree! SwiftKey makes English default first words even though I use another language for most of the time.

I agree!!! PLEASE ADD LANGUAGE SWITCH FUNCTIONALITY! For me the problem is that 3 languages is just not enough! i live in Italy with my French boyfriend, working in English, speaking with my family in Russian and with my Friends in Romanian. PLEASE HELP! every time i need to switch to the 4th language, i have to go back to the options some place far away and it's very annoying!!!

Doing that only changes the keyboard layout, not the language it uses when correcting. This is exactly the problem.

Apparently I can switch between languages on the space bar when the languages have a different keyboard (qwerty/azerty). It would be neat if this possibility would also be available if all languages are in the same keyboard style.

Daniel Barber: I don't know what you're referring to when you say "swipe left/right on the space bar"..? If I enable two languages - say Dutch and English - the space bar is just a plain old space bar. There's no long-press menu, no slide menus, nothing. I'm using the latest SwiftKey on a Galaxy Note II.
For me, both languages are present simultaneously. If I start typing "DE" to write in English "Dear...", the prediction gives me "Dear" (English), but also "De" and "Deze" (Dutch). If I'm writing in English, why the hell would I want to begin a sentence with "Deze .."? It makes no sense.

This is a huge one : currently the multi language functionality is practically useless.. If I'm typing English, then why would I want to see Dutch words in my completion list? We need the ability to choose which language we're typing in!

        Very very annoying.

Why on earth would you not give the user the option, to easily switch language, for example like on the default keyboard, by swiping on the space bar?

Swift is awesome, but missing this option, is a deal breaker for me, and I can't use it. Fix this, and I'll be using it, and rating it 5.

This is also really big issue for me. Swipe over space bar to change languages sounds best to me.

I have Russian, English and Spanish language packs. I have to disable two languages to use one. In a chat environment such as Facebook messenger, it is difficult to communicate with all my friends as it takes time to go back and change the pack. For Spanish, I can make do with the English keyboard and vice versa fairly well. I can't say that for Russian due to the Cyrillic alphabet. Don't you guys test before release? This is not something you would miss pre-release otherwise you wouldn't support all those languages. Do something, and do it pretty fast because an alternative is just a download away!!
