Option to disable auto-space after punctuation and/or prediction
Would really like the option do disable/enable auto-space after punctuation (.,!), particularly period. Would make entering e.g. adresses and version number strings (which I do a lot) much less of a hassle.
And related, an option to do the same for prediction: Some languages, e.g. Swedish, uses composite words (combining word stems/lexemes into one word) extensively.
4,739 votesAuto-spacing is now disabled if:
you start to enter a number
you write www. (indicating that you are entering a URL)
you use the @symbol (indicating that you are writing an email address) -

Having an option to select all, cut, copy and paste. / clipboard
Just like ctrl a/x/c/v on windows pc. You just swipe from the icon to a to select all. So convenient! This needs it for sure. When we get it, I'll be a happy camper.

Save, sync, share data and language model (on SD card or via cloud)
EDIT: I've put all "save data on SD card" and "sync language to cloud" requests into one big thread because it seems that you all want the same thing - the ability to put your language profile onto a new device or onto your old device after a reboot.
Previous title: Keep prediction data/stats/habits on SDcard so you dont lose them switching to a new ROM.
One of the reasons android is so popular is the freedom and customization it allows. At the root (pun intended) of that is custom ROMs. Roms like Cyanogen have made it to the Front…
4,023 votesHi everyone, we are aware that many of our users have multiple devices or update their devices regularly, so we are looking into the best way to sync your learned language models between devices.
Thanks,

AutoText - Word Substitution / Macros (brb = 'be right back')
Create your own typing shortcuts/macros. It's a popular feature that BlackBerry smartphones have always had that allows you to substitute a combination of letters (or words) for something else (typically longer). For example, why always type out your full email address when you can just type something like 'mygmail' and when you press the space button it'll replace 'mygmail' with 'mygmailname@gmail.com'. I use these all the time for things like my phone numbers, email addresses, addresses, and even just shorthand (i.e. ttyl + space button = talk to you later). It allows you to type faster with less…

Physical keyboard issues / hardkb
1. While using SwiftKey on physical keyboard, the "symbols" key won't open symbols chart
2. When I'm using physical keyboard, I can't tell if I'll type in regulars/caps/symbols. Stock keyboard displays statusbar icon (A, Aa, a, blue square [used for alternative ket functions] key pressed, blue square key permanently pressed). There should be similar feature.3,189 votes -
Don't autocorrect a word when the user backs up and deletes part of it,. People want it: http://redd.it/122sp3
Don't autocorrect a word when the user backs up and deletes part of it.
Whenever SwiftKey autocorrects a word that is almost correct (e.g. "bikes" instead of "bike"), don't autocorrect the word back to "bikes" if the user deletes the 's'.
As of right now, #1 post on Reddit!: http://redd.it/122sp3
3,166 votesThanks for your comments. We want SwiftKey to be the best keyboard out there and understand that it’s frustrating that it doesn’t yet hear you shouting “no, I meant THIS” when you make a change to a word that you have already typed.

Manually edit dictionary - add or remove words
Editing the dictionary.. For example deleting passwords added to the dictionary by mistake.
2,537 votesYou can remove accidentally-saved passwords (or any other word that you don’t want in your model) by longpressing on the prediction and choosing “Remove”.
Because SwiftKey takes into account the context in which you use a word, the best way to add words is to do so at the time when you want to type them.
If your spacebar is set to “complete current word” or “insert a prediction” then the left-hand prediction will show the exact lettters that you have typed. Tap it to insert the word.
If your spacebar is set to “always insert a space” then just tap the space and the word you typed is inserted.
SwiftKey will learn every word that you type, but if your word is competing with another popular word (similar tap pattern, similar flow pattern or similar context) then it may take a few goes before your word is predicted.

Make it possible to switch between the smiley and the enter button permanently
That I could choose if I like the smiley or the enter ar the right bottom corner
2,515 votesCurrently the status of the bottom-right button is determined by information given to us by the app or text field that you are using – the app developer or web developer will indicate whether the bottom-right button should be smiley/new line, go, confirm, next field, etc. Smiley and Enter (new line) are the most common uses, but not the only uses of this button.

What if you could long-press on a prediction to get different forms of the word? / word variations / word variants
What if long-pressing on a prediction gave you a menu with different forms of the word. Many times I see SwiftKey predict the right word, but in the wrong form (Ex: predict, predicted, prediction, predicts), and I have to type it out.

dedicated punctuation. bring back exclamation mark and question mark
The recent update spoilt the core functionality of the original SK. It slows down the typing speed when you guys hide exclamation and question mark!
1,903 votesThere’s no need to longpress to access exclamation and question mark from the new punctuation button. Just tap for . slide quick left for ! and slide quick right for ?
See our how-to video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUi-CtciwMk
We’re sure once you get used to it you’ll be typing even quicker than before.
