From what I can tell, dashes are being phased out of the dgital (txt) communication medium.

This trend is baffling to me. I have installed five different kyboard apps and been researching this topic all afternoon. SwiftKey and a couple of other brands still offer the en dash (–), but the em dash (—) appears to be on its way to the scrap yard. Developers are ruthlessly removing these essential and necessary punctuation marks, adding hearts and dingbats(!!) in their place—really??

This is the kind of 21st century 'txt era' BS that is killing our language.

I want an explanation—not from a support rep, or a publicist, or even a CEO. I want to speak with a senior developer.
