add navigation arrows / cursor keys on tablet version
Please add the arrow keys to the tablet version
Cursor keys that appear at the bottom by swiping the space bar upward... Like the Gingerbread keyboard app
It's often difficult to place the cursor just where you need to with android devices for some reason, a set of readily accessible cursor keys would be really useful.
No Arrow Keys on Transformer Prime
Wonderful app. However, even on my 10" Asus transformer, positioning the cursor precisely in text is still uneasy. Please, add the option to have arrow keys for tablets as you have on phones. Thanks.
Add the option for arrow key to the tablet version.
the smartphone Version has got cursors.
Similar to bluetooth keyboards it would be nice to have cursor keys right at your fingertips when editing text. Or make it optional at the least.
I use my ASUS tablet also for taking notes and it bites that moving the cursor to a different location in the text can only be done by using your fingertips. Positioning the cursor exactly where you want it, is fairly bothersome at times and reduces productivity to nothing.
This is one of my favorite wishes. The keys could even be on a secondary page.
keyboard that has aN option for a row keys
Arrows are so very handy and are in your trial, which was a big selling feature for me. I write a lot, it's so difficult and wasteful of time to try to get the cursor where I need it without the arrows.
No option for arrows under 'themes' in my updated paid-for version. I use LePan tablet (pre ice-cream version)
I can get the arrows on swift key 3 for my phone but not for swift key tablet. It's not in the settings.
Add arrows to Tablet keyboard.
just a short question: on my Android Phone (Samsung Galaxy Note), SwiftKey has 4 arrow-keys (up, down, left and right) which make it easy to move the cursor in the desired direction easily.
On my tablet (Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1), however, these 4 Keys are (still) missing from the tablet-Version of SwiftKey.
Could you possibly include those 4 keys in one of your next update(s)?
Thank you very much indeed,
Please add the arrow keys for the tablet version
Bring arrow keys to move the cursor like in the mobile phone version
Please add to the thumb-Keyboard (in the Middle next to the numbers Keys) the arrow Keys!
.. and I will buy the full version
Add arrow keys to SwiftKey 3 for the tablet
My galaxy nexus has the option to have direction arrows on the main keyboard. I use it so much, I miss it on the tablet version. It would just be a nice feature to have back. Please.
Can't seem to get arrow keys to show up in the tablet version
This option is available in the standard SwiftKey but not the tablet version.
I Have little problem with fingers and i bought swiftkey because arrow keys help me a lot, please fix asap.
For use on a tablet, there is pleanty of room for arrow keys - especially the split keyboard.
cursor keys on the main screen in the tablet app
Please add arow keys.
Steven ry jarring to move to my tablet from the my phone without the arrow keys.
Tablet version is missing the arrow keys. What happened?
No found in theme tab the arrow key option.
Add cursor keys to the first keyboard layer (like in non tablett version) not only in the third layer. Even on tabletts cursor keys are very often much easier to use then the touch screen positioning.
The title says it all.
The phone app has arrow keys, but the tablet app does not. I use them all the time because often I want to edit something I've written and it's a real PITA trying to edit without them.
I can't find a way to add the arrows to the portrait keyboard.
Placing cursor with that green markers is a pain in the a%&.
Without arrow keys text correction with this keyboard is a hard work.
Please add arrow keys. In the thumb layout there is plenty of room for that.
Is it possible to use the arrow keys in the tablet version? Please let me know
Tablets such as the Transformer Prime need arrow cursor movement keys perhaps MORE than phones, as we do a lot of text entry. Please add them as an option similar to SwiftKey X.
I'm using the samsung galaxy 7.0 plus and I have been using it on the HTC evo 4g and the arrow keys always come in handy for people with big thumbs. Even the the samsung galaxy 7.0 plus is a bit bigger i still have problems moving the cursor to the right position. Even as i type this entry I find that I really miss it in the tablet version of your app. Hope to see it included in this version.
Please include arrows for tablet. Is one of the main reasons I paid AGAIN for the tablet version coming from phone version.
1.arrow keys, 2.style sync with whatsapp, 3.in german mode i would live to Have the ä, ö, über as first choice After long press
I have purchased both phone and tab app. I feel that the arrow keys should be available on both products.
Place arrow through keys on keyboard
Eventhough cursor can be positioned with touch screen, not very accurate, as letters are small
More than any other feature these arrow keys have been requested but the developer's attitude is pathetic. Make it an option at least, this keyboard has next to zero personalization.
REVAMP. Add Arrow Keys: IDEAS: left arrow left of A key, right arrow right of L key. Up and Down are least used so they can be placed in just 2 large keys in center or wherever else is convenient. OR keys in center, having Left and Up on one side with right and down on the other.
Maybe remove most of tabbing on middle row if arrow key idea 1 isn't used. Key width size adjust. Long press shld default at 350ms. Space after predictions should be optional. Move the keyboard style switch to settings or a long press. Maybe get some ideas from thumb keyboard. It's tablet version is slightly better. It sounds like most people wld be happy with these adjustments.
Swiftkey for tablets is missing an option for arrow keys to move the cursor.
First, bring the arrow key option to Tablet X. You still need arrow keys when you are using a 7" screen. The keys should be as tall as the regular keys. Second, make an Extra Large option for keyboard height. The Extra Large option (tall rectangles) should have a keyboard height that takes up 50% of the screen with a resolution of 600x1024 in portrait mode. This includes the suggestion bar and the arrow keys in the height. The prediction of SwiftKey destroys all other keyboards on the market, but why are you ok with me having all of this extra stress on my hands when I type on my 7" because the keyboard is too low? Either I have to change my grip to lower my thumbs which is unnatural as balance point is not centered any longer or I have to shift my thumbs back toward my wrists which creates a lot of stress on my thumb muscles while I type.
FAQ says go to settings to turn on arrow keys. Tried to do that, but the option is missing
Just to go back and forth a few characters in case of corrections.
Please could you include a "arrow key" option like the phone version. This will make the product much more useful for my Motorola Xoom.
The phone version has an option to always display arrow keys. This would be a great bonus for the tablet
There's plenty of room between the letters and the numbers in SK Tablet X. Please let us put arrow keys on the home keyboard screen, like we can on our phone keyboards. Navigating text fields is a joke without them.
Add arrow keys like there is for the mobile version. In tablets it's has a higher value because there is no scroll buttons. Just typing this suggestion took me 15 minz because of the scrolling issues on my galaxy tab 10.1.
Please add option of arrows to bottom of main keyboard in Tablet X, as you did in Swiftkey Phone X. Thanks!
There is room in the split keyboard layout to provide 1 button that would bring up the 4 arrow keys. After 24 hours of use, I have found that I often need the arrow keys. As Swiftkey is designed now, I have to press 2 keys just to get to the arrow keys. Why not place 1 button below the "P" key and to the right of the "L" key that, when pressed, makes the 4 arrow keys appear?
This would be very helpful. Thank you.
I'd like to be able to activate arrow keys on my xoom, since it doesn't have a Trackball.
Why the hell is aren't there any arrow keys for the tablet?
And why is my Dell Streak treated like a tablet.
The beta version of the phone X can be used on the Dell Streak. That is very strange. So I have to stick to the beta version, although I have paid both for the phone and the tablet.
What do you people think?
Navigating with a finger really is too cumbersome.
Archos 101 Froyo. Where have the arrow keys gone? Why would you remove functionality that was in a previous beta?
SwiftKey 4.3 is out now (available as an update/to purchase from Google Play, Amazon App Store and AndroidPIT) – including an extended layout for tablets which features left-right cursor keys.
Full cursor keys are available on the second keyboard pane with a single tap of the ‘123’.

Is swift key going to straighten my 2 accounts that I paid for so i can put one on this phone & there other on my tablet

The previous post is correct, this topic is NOT complete. 4 direction arrow keys should be available in tablet split mode just as it is on the phone UI. Plus, left-right allow keys in extended mode is only half of a solution. Do you guys ever use your product to do actual work, like to write a document? Is beautiful right up until Autocorrect fails and you have to change "wrote" to "write". Would be nice to have an arrow key then. Now imagine you just noticed that in the sentence above your current position.... Even better, try scrolling through more than 5 lines of text in a comment field on this very help page.
@ Sarah Reynolds... I must disagree that this topic is not "Completed".
I too NEED all 4 arrow keys, especially on the tablet. You could simply provide for another checkbox (all four arrows vs just two) to be shown on the primary layout.
This feature is very useful for those using tablets with a terminal program as well as other apps, where going back and forth between two keyboard displays is too time consuming.
I appreciate that the latest beta displays the right and left arrow keys when used on a tablet, but I still miss the up and down arrow keys. To me it looks like there would be room to display the up and down arrow keys just to the left of the right and left arrow keys by simply making the space bar shorter. I also much appreciate the tab key now being on the main keyboard when the latest beta version is used on a tablet. However, I would also like to see the tab key on the main keyboard of the phone layout.
Thread NOT COMPLETED! Tbe phone kb is MUCH better than the tablet kb, having all 4 arross. Please do the job properly.
I just mailed support. They haven't responded on Twitter, their blog or here. It's annoying.
They removed what worked in the tablet version and was told they have many other features to implement in the tablet version. They finally acknowledge the problem almost a year later. Then they implement it poorly and ruin the tablet keyboard in portrait. And then they remove the ability to use the phone keyboard on a tablet so if we want the proper keyboard we have to use an outdated version, get no number row, and get no more updates, iimprovements and bug fixes. All for a feature that shouldn't have been removed in the first place.
This thread is NOT completed!
The "extended" keyboard for tablets fails to include the up and down arrow keys, which are just as important as the right and left arrow keys. Moreover, IIRC, on the extended keyboard the individual keys are slightly smaller--that's the last thing I want or need. No one has ever offered a reasonable explanation for why the OPTION to have the four arrow keys on the main keyboard was removed from tablets but kept on phones, even though tablets have more room for them. This is insane! PLEASE BRING BACK THE OPTION TO HAVE ALL FOUR ARROW KEYS ON THE MAIN KEYBOARD, as it used to be. That was one of the main reasons I bought SwiftKey.

Yes, please give us an option to add full arrows to our keyboard, specially the split thumbs version (as the Thumb Keyboard app). Please!

NOT COMPLETE! Give us ALL 4 ARROWS available in a dedicated row! (don't put them on another screen, don't just give left/right, etc)
So this just sucks. This new tablet version is horrid so I'm stuck using the old keyboard version with the keys on large so I can get proper arrow keys at the bottom. The left justified keyboard with two arrow keys is just plain horrid.
Now I can't even play with the beta with the number row, because I lose my bottom row arrow keys and have to shift my fingers over to type somewhat properly. Can't imagine what people do on larger tablets. Might be somewhat acceptable if you're not holding the tablet from the sides, but 7" tablets in portrait, the tablet keyboard just sucks.
Why did you screw up the tablet version? Can't take advantage of any updates now due to this issue.
Not complete at all. My Nexus 7 had the arrows just like the phone version and now it doesn't. They are buried away. This was not even remotely a good idea. Very disappointed after having to wait so long for arrows on my Note 10.1 and now on top of it, they broke what was already working on my Nexus 7. Please put the OPTION to have them on the screen where they were.
No. Not completed. Beware, the unified version only has left and right arrow keys. It also shifts the entire typing keys left. It's an awkward layout.
If you use the phone version on your tablet, DO NOT UPDATE! You will lose functionality and a normal keyboard layout. I don't understand how they thought this was a good idea and needed to deviate from the normal portrait layout on the phone or an inverted T in landscape.
I bought the full version for the sole reason that the trial version had all 4 arrow keys on the main keyboard. I loved that. Now only right and left are there. Why bury them in the 123 keyboard? Silly.
Would like to see cursor keys in Thumb keyboard. There is a big empty space there.
Would like to see the same arrow keys layout in tablet version as in phone version
Even better with a real cross shape, would have taken up less horizontal screen space and been easier to use
The funny thing is the whole keyboard is left justified. I just don't get it.
With all the space available in a tablet, only left and right? (The stock android keyboard has ever had that) You could have moved the number-pad slightly toward one side and add a full arrow keypad replica.
