  1. Add and maintain a stock Android theme updated with each release of Android

there are quite a few threads in here talking about a stock Google Android theme. Instead of requesting an Android specific theme like jelly bean or holo, this request is to maintain a theme that always looks like the most current version of the stock Android theme.

    • Option to disable auto-space after punctuation and/or prediction

Add an option to disable automatic space after completing a word in flow. Instead add space after I have either chosen a suggestion is state typing a new word This way I could choose the proper suggestion much faster or need be correct my previous typing.

        Hi everyone,

This issue is something we’ve thought about on many occasions, as it would definitely simplify some of the typing use cases.

One of the primary problems is that people often build words by selecting the root or prefix and then adding a suffix. For instance, if I want the word “predicting” I might select “predict”, then add the “ing”. In this case, if you add space before a prediction, there’s no way of knowing if the user intended to start the next word or add to the selected word.

In the absence of a space after a prediction, a user whose cursor was next to the end of a word would not know if the predictions/corrections that they saw related to the word they are currently “in”, or to the next word.

There may be a way to solve this problem via probabilistic modelling, but it’s definitely non-trivial.…

      • Make it easier to decapitalise words

        There are two issues here:

        1) the keyboard learning that any capitalisation means it is a proper noun, but this could just be because it's the beginning of a sentence.

Example: "sure Where's that?" - I just wrote this and it automatically capitalises Where's, because I tend to start a sentence with it. But this is wrong as it is not a proper noun (unlike Trevor, for example). This learning should only occur from the user choosing to capitalise *in the middle of a sentence*.

        2) How do decapitalise the autocapsed word? If I select "Where's", by pressing shift I…

        • Remove comma from period box

As there is already a dedicated comma key to the left of the space bar, it would be great if you could remove it from the box that pops up when you long-press the period key. That , I won't keep accidentally select the comma when I intend to pick an exclamation or question mark.

            • Pops up slower than native keyboard

On my Galaxy S4 (unrooted), SwiftKey takes twice as long as the native Samsung keyboard to pop up.

I have the latest SwiftKey version from Google Play. I never installed any beta versions.

I timed the pop up time of both the native Samsung keyboard and the SwiftKey keyboard many times. Please make SwiftKey pop up faster to make it a perfect replacement for the native Samsung Keyboard. Otherwise, the longer pop up delay is annoying.

              Thanks.

After long pressing the enter key (without releasing) sliding your finger to the desired smiley and releasing should select that emoticon. It appears this feature was lost in a recent update.

                  • Add an option to bring back the enter (new line) key instead of the send message key

With the newest version I really miss the enter key in many applications, could you add an option to replace the 'send' key with 'enter' or 'new line' key! The option should be for phone and Tablet layouts!

                    • SwiftKey keyboard doesn't change to small letters automatically at email address or password field.

Just about every keyboard reverts to small letters automatically at email address fields and also at password fields but SwiftKey doesn't. Can youfix that? Also, try typing this exact message in this field and you will realize that you can't insert a space between you and fix.

                      • Update the Holo theme with white text to match Android 4.4

Along with Android 4.4 came the updated Google Keyboard, and I just think the Holo theme for SwiftKey should be updated with white text instead of blue to match the new design. I would start using the theme if it was like that, I love the color in the new Google Keyboard

                        • Enable fast and direct access to „?“ and „!“ by long press on “,” and “.” without to glide in subsequent dialog

Current preselection of “.” after long press on “.” is redundant, as the “.” can be selected directly! Also there is no reason for the “,” in this subsequent dialog (can also be selected directly). Long press of “,” is actually not used. That’s why long press on “,” and “.” could serve to directly access “?” and “!” by preselection and thus improve efficiency.

                            • How about programming the software to reject mistakes that a typist has repeatedly corrected by back-deleting & then retyping.

The choice most often typed in after the correction, could become the one that the software inserts automatically.

                                • make the sensor area for shift, backspace and space smaller so they are not accidentally pressed when typing...

If the sensor size of these keys were reduced so that only the bottom half of the space key worked, for example, then this would avoid the very common problem of pressing these keys accidentally. Perhaps this could be user defined as a percentage of the original size.

When pressing a for example, a good percentage of the time the shift key is accidentally pressed. Of only the bottom left of this key was sensitive then accidental pressing would be greatly reduced but purposeful pressing would be still possible... for example:

Whet the = is the only sensitive…

                                    • Switch for umlauts

Please add option to turn on/off using umlauts. Many people speaking languages with umlauts write anyway without umlauts. Eg. when writing SMS message with ASCII characters has limit of 160 characters, SMS with umlauts can have just 70 characters . and there are other cases when not using umlauts is useful / necessary. Now when I write sometimes with and sometimes without umlauts, SwiftKey prediction is a mess of words with and without umlauts. It would be great to have option that SwiftKey would discard umlauts on background based on user preference. Looking forward when this will be implemented. Effort…

                                      • Long press delete

To delete a Word it has been very comfortable to hold the delete button an I could stripe from right to left and back ! Every distance I stripe I delete the next character.

In this way I could fast delete part of a word or stripe back to undelete a character.

I hope you understand my idea.

Sry for my bad English :)

                                        • Don't capitalize after "..."

Please don't automatically capitalize after "...", which is used to indicate a pause, not an end of sentence.

                                          Thanks!

                                            Hello community,

I just wanted to point out that we do have a dedicated key that inserts an ellipses and it does not capitalize the following word.

You can access it by tapping the 123 key > longpress the period key and you’ll see it as one of the secondary options.

Thank you all for your continuous feedback and suggestions.
